_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

FRU Dance Camp is an intimate summer retreat (only 30participants) dedicated to the practice of dance improvisation and contact improvisation, held outside the city, immersed in nature.

This event is designed for people with dance experience who wish to deepen their practice through movement, touch, relationship, and presence - in conditions that support focus, rest, and regeneration.

FACILITATORS

FRU Dance Camp is led by a team of teachers working with improvisation, contact improvisation, and performative practices. Joining us are:

Marta Wrzesińska (Spain / Poland)
Zuzanna Bukowski (Thailand / Poland)
Irena Wiktor (Ireland / Poland)
Filip Wencki (Poland)
Michał Ratajski (Poland)
more soon . . .

Each facilitator brings their own perspective on improvisation, relational work, and the moving body.

WHAT DOES A DAY AT FRU LOOK LIKE?

Rather than a rigid schedule, the day follows a clear and supportive rhythm:

morning movement practice
improvisation and contact improvisation sessions
work indoors and outdoors
time for rest, integration, and being in nature
evening jams, quiet practice or a shared circle

The daily structure supports both deepening the practice and integrating the experience.

LOCATION

FRU takes place far from the city, surrounded by fields, meadows, forests, and lakes.

dancing outdoors
space for quiet and regeneration
sauna on site
absence of urban rush and overstimulation

Nature is an integral part of the experience - not a backdrop, but a partner in the practice.

WHO IS IT FOR?

dancers with experience in improvisation and/or contact improvisation
contemporary dancers, performers, movement practitioners
people who want to practice dance in a small group and in nature

This is not an event for people without dance experience
not for those looking for recreational or “open level” classes
not for a first encounter with movement

FRU is practice.
FRU is contact.
FRU is dancing in presence.
